The Winchester Astronomy Club Art Exhibition Members of our schools' astronomy and art club, pooled together their creativity and passion and hosted the school's first astronomy themed art exhibition, featured various forms of art, telescope viewings, discussions and seminars aimed around increasing an awareness and appreciation for astronomy.

Radio BroadcastRaya Bidshahri and Edeline D'Souza of year twelve appeared as guest speakers on Dubai Eye Radio "Talking of Books" to shed light on David Deutsch's book "The Beginning of Infinity". A completely captivating new perspective from our young and aspiring students was said to add taste and flair to the show as they spoke passionately on "explanations that transform the world".

Sixth Form Literature Students attend Shakespeare Performance at DUCTACSome of the Winchester Literature students attended The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) at DUCTAC on 5 October performed by the Dubai Drama group. The perfomance was absolutely outstanding and our students thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was a non-stop laugh-riot! Shakespeare as never before! Standing ovation at the end.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award For Excellence 2012-13Parizad Bidshahri (Raya) from year 12 received the award this year. The ceremony took place at Dubai Modern High School on 2 Oct.
The award represents the Outstanding Academic Performance, Commitment to the Environment and World Citizenship of the student who receives it. It entitles winners to a full-tuition scholarship and extends across schools in the Middle East and was expanded to India as well in 2010. It is highly prestigious as it is in the name of this honourable person and it is always presented by a member of the UAE Royal Family. It is awarded to only one person per school. |

Jason Silva visits Winchester!Jason Silva the famous youth icon from America visited our school on 5th Sept. and spoke to our Sixth formers. He’s a film maker, a futurist, an epiphany addict, a techno-philosopher, and a presenter on Al Gore Emmy winning network, Current TV. He’s also associated with the Human Project and The Imaginary Foundation.
A self-professed wonder junkie, Silva recently launched a series of noncommercial micro-documentaries exploring the co-evolution of humans and technology The films have gone viral, having been viewed over one million times online! He recently spoke at TEDGlobal 2012 in Edinburgh. The event left a lasting impression on our students and they were all tremendously entertainied by his optimism and breadth of knowledge.
